Vitrium Security's Permission Views
When deciding to utilize content security and digital rights management (DRM) software, ease of use is especially important. Not just for the end user, but also for the organization providing the content. This is why at Vitrium, we work to ensure that our customer's experience is seamless and straightforward.
Vitrium Security's new permission views allows you to see who has access to your content. This allows you, as an administrator, to see how your content is distributed among your users, the groups your users belong to, and the content those groups have access to. Vitrium also enables you to see if the user or group (or both) has been linked to the content. This feature can be found under the tabs; Content, Users, and Groups, in the admin view.
User or Group Permissions By Content
To view which users or groups have permission to view a specific piece of content:
- Go to the “Content” tab (where you will find a list of all your files)
- Select the icon under the column “Users” corresponding to the content whose permissions you would like to view
You can now see all the users and groups who have access to this file. Anything highlighted in green indicates the entity (user or group) where the permissions were assigned.
Content Permissions by User
Similarly, in the “Users” tab, click on the “Content” icon next to a particular user and you can see all the content that user has permission to, including the folder path where that content can be found in Vitrium Security.
Content Permissions by Group
In the “Groups” tab, click on the “Content” icon next to a particular group and you can see all the content that group has permission to, including the folder path where that content can be found in Vitrium Security.
These features can be especially useful if you have a large number of end users. Having the ability to view who has access to which content through three different lenses (by Content, Users, or Group) allows you or your organization to easily manage your files.
When it comes to protecting your content, digital rights management is the natural first step. However, choosing a DRM system that doesn't provide an easy-to-use administrative interface can create more problems. Vitrium Security not only secures your content but provides useful features that lets you manage your content and users without any problems.
